Toni Nadal: 'Even Roger Federer needs to train to be good'
For Rafael Nadal's uncle and former coach, there are many ways to be successful. The 58-year-old Mallorca native said: "You have to know that there is not only just one way to make a breakthrough. For example, Rafael did it quickly but there are other players who reached this level in a slower way, and those people did well too. You do not have to feel frustrated right forward. I think it's a problem in our current society. Players quickly get frustrated when things do not go too well. Expecting that things go well and quick is not easy. You have to be available to do everything you have to in order to get to success. It's something simple but there are many people who are not able to do it. A guy like Roger Federer still needs to train for an hour and a half to be good, while another guy will have to train longer."
Toni also commented on how the game has evolved over the years: "Before, in order to win a point, you had to work more, prepare the play well. All of this requires a big technical and mental work, and that's what you see less."
On Spain possibly winning the Davis Cup, Toni concluded: "The effort is there, there is a clear compromise from players in making one more effort to win. We had a bad draw", concluded Toni who last attended a tennis match last month in Wimbledon for the semifinal between Rafael and Federer.
