'Tsitsipas to become world No. 1 after Federer, Nadal, Djokovic retire'
The former Greek player Tasos Bavelas commented on Stefanos Tsitsipas's potential. This year the 20-year-old reached his maiden Grand Slam semifinal in the Australian Open and achieved a career-high ranking at No. 6. Bavelas said: "He will become world No. 1 when Big Three are retired. It's not too late. In two or three years. His opponents will be Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev. I think he will also win Grand Slams. He is good on any surface."
On the Olympic Games that will take place in Tokyo next year, Tsitsipas added: "It's a magical experience. Everyone wants to play there. I had the pleasure and honour to play in the Olympics. In 2020 Greece will have players in singles and mixed."
He also recalled his memories as a player: "I remember Wimbledon. English people keep traditions. Old locker rooms, without matches on Sunday, they never argue each other at night. Good times."
The second half of the season starts with the Rogers Cup that will take place in Montreal on the men's side from 11 to 18 August 2019. After Wimbledon, tennis players take a break in order to recharge batteries after some very tiring first six months. Rafael Nadal is the defending champion. Last year, despite he headed into Toronto with just a few training sessions in his legs following his five-set Wimbledon semifinals loss to Novak Djokovic, he still managed to triumph beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, and then he withdrew from Cincinnati. This tournament marked the Tsitsipas' breakthrough, he was able to beat four top ten players: Dominic Thiem, Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Kevin Anderson.
