Eugenie Bouchard: 'I am tired of losing'

Eugenie Bouchard last won a competitive match on February 17 when she defeated Vera Lapko in the Dubai Open first round. Then she lost to Simona Halep and she never won a match again so far.

In a recent interview Bouchard said: "I am looking forward to win a match, I will not hide it. I am tired of losing. My coach said that we would have used the rest of the season to prepare ahead of the next one. I will play tournaments again, but I will also work on the fitness training because that's what lacks now. I have to keep working hard to add things to my game, so I will be ready for the next season. It's always disappointing to lose. Now I am rebuilding my game."

"Many players are going through tough times and there were great comebacks in history", she admitted. "Some players who achieved much more than me went through difficult times including Andre Agassi. If you keep having the fire, there is always the hope to be back. It's about staying there and working hard. Nothing lasts forever. It's like this, all the girls play well on Tour and wins are not guaranteed", concluded Bouchard.

The 25-year-old Westmount native last played a match at the US Open losing to the 12th seeded player Anastasija Sevastova. Just five years ago Eugenie was on the top five rankings and she had even reached the 2014 Wimbledon final.
