Next Gen not as consistent as Roger Federer, Nadal and Djokovic - Blake

James Blake praised Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The former American player said: "They are still playing at a higher level than the rest. The others do not have the same consistency as the Big Three."

Blake also said he enjoys going around New York unlike some years ago when he competed: "As a player you have pressure, also when you head into the Arthur Ashe. Now walking on the ground and not getting worried about any match is perfect."

Making a prediction on the women's side, Blake concluded: "I want to pick Serena Williams. If I pick against her then she'd prove me wrong. Every player has the big mentality but she is at the top. The combination between her mentality, physical skills and attributes is a perfect one. She is the best player if not the best athlete of all time."

Meanwhile Rod Laver praised Roger Federer in a big way speaking to US Open Now: "It's amazing because when Roger was 36, at the Australian, I spent a fair bit of time with him, just bumming around, then he comes off and he wins, beats Nadal in the final. It's a huge feat at 36, which most players' career have ended, he is in the middle of another resurgence of bearing up to compete. And at 38 I still see him playing an unbelievable tennis. He has certainly proved it. I will see him at the Laver Cup in Geneva", concluded the Australian legend who regularly attends all the four Grand Slams.
