Berrettini: 'Spending time with girlfriend Alja Tomljanovic is special'

In an interview as quoted by ubitennis Matteo Berrettini spoke about how it feels to have his girlfriend Alja Tomljanovic next to him in this week's Vienna Open. "It is very special as we do not have the chance to spend too much time together", recognized the 23-year-old Rome native. "We also hit together on the practice courts."

On his win over Grigor Dimitrov, Berrettini added: "It was very close, it could have gone either way. I am very happy with my performance, both technique-wise and mentally. He had beaten me in Monte Carlo, this time I son. It means my level is growing."

About potentially reaching the ATP Finals in London, Berrettini added: "I am thinking about it but it is not something that distracts me from what I am doing. I keep working. It would be a dream but my career will last for many more years, I hope, so I hope it's not just about this goal."

On Jannik Sinner's good results, Berrettini added: "Crazy, he wins matches that look like easy but are not. His strength is the mind. He has a very good approach. He has a great easiness on the backhand side, he moves very well. But what impresses me the most, even in training, is the attitude, the desire to go to the next step and improve all the time."
