Holger Rune reveals Roger Federer's pre-match warmup request

Promising Dane Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune has revealed what Roger Federer wanted to try on the practice court before his Nitto ATP Finals match against Matteo Berrettini. 

Federer selected 2019 French Open boys' singles champion Rune to be his warm up partner before a crucial match at the ATP Finals. 

The Swiss made a bad start to his ATP Finals campaign, having lost to Austrian Dominic Thiem on the opening day of the event. 

On Tuesday, the 38-year-old was desperate to beat Berrettini and keep his semifinal chances alive. 

US Open semifinalist Berrettini fought hard in the opening set but failed to deliver in the first set tie-break as Federer escaped with a straight-set win 7-6 (2) 6-3. 

"Roger asked me for serves to his body and some kick serves on his backhand, I played well he got a good warm up, I want him to win this tournament," 16-year-old Rune said. 

Now it's all set for a showdown at The O2 Arena as Federer will be taking on world No. 2 Novak Djokovic on Thursday.

Federer, a six-time ATP Finals champion, is aiming to win his first title at The O2 Arena since 2011.
