Sascha Bajin Speaks About Decision to Split from Kristina Mladenovic
Tennis - Renowned tennis coach Sascha Bajin has spoken about the reason for his recent split with French tennis player Kristina Mladenovic.
In a report published by Essentially Sports, Bajin commented that the reason for his split was entirely selfish. “It was really great. I learned a lot and I hope she did a bit too. Her whole family is truly some of the nicest people you meet on tour. I am sad and it broke my heart that I choose not to continue but I had to think about myself. It’s selfish I admit that but if you don’t think bout what’s best for yourself who else will …? I wish her truly nothing but the best.”
Bajin started in the tennis world by working with Serena Williams and then joined forces with her close friend Caroline Wozniacki before he worked with Naomi Osaka during her US Open and Australian Open wins. After being dropped by Osaka earlier this year, Bajin began working with the Mladenovic camp. There are reports that he may be beginning to work with former Belgian World No. 1 Kim Clijsters, who is returning to the tour next season but those reports are yet to be confirmed by either the Clijsters camp or Bajin himself.
Mladenovic, who won the doubles title at the season-ending WTA Finals in Shenzhen on Sunday with partner Timea Babos, was not happy with the end of the partnership and was hoping to continue working with Bajin in the next season.
