Stan Wawrinka splits with long-time coach Yannick Fattebert

World No. 16 Stan Wawrinka has split with his long-time coach Yannick Fattebert but the two remain on good terms as the Swiss tennis star has nothing but good to say about Fattebert.

Fattebert was a member of Wawrinka's coaching staff during the 34-year-old's best years on the Tour and the Swiss star underlined that he would never forget that.

Wawrinka claimed his maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2014, before winning two more Major titles at the French Open in 2015 and US Open in 2016, respectively.

Following his win over Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open final, the Swiss also achieved a career-high ranking of No. 3 in the world on January 27th, 2014.

"I would like to say thank you to my long term coach Yannick! You have been by my side for many years through both good and bad times! We had the chance to win grand slams together and you helped me so much on my comeback after a big surgery! Wawrinka said in an Instagram post. "You’ve been a great coach but most importantly a great friend! Thank you for years of hard work and dedication!"

Wawrinka will continue working with Magnus Norman and Daniel Vallverdu.
