After winning back-to-back Challenger titles in Las Vegas and Charlottesville, Vasek Pospisil's confidence has grown as he now hopes to end the season on a high note and set himself up for a deep Australian Open run.
Pospisil, a former world No. 25, missed the whole first six months of the season, before making his comeback from a back surgery at The All England Club.
As expected, the Canadian struggled a bit on the court in his first couple of tournaments but as the season progressed his game and form increased.
Prior to winning back-to-back Challenger titles, the 29-year-old made the round-of-16 at the Shanghai Masters as a qualifier before falling short to world No. 4 Daniil Medvedev.
"Right now, with the results I've had the past couple months, it's completely unexpected and I won't take it for granted. I'm more ready than I thought to climb back up the rankings. I'll be going into the Australian Open with higher goals after this past month," Pospisil told the ATP Challenger Tour.
Pospisil, now ranked at No. 153 in the world, made back-to-back third rounds at Melbourne Park in 2014 and 2015.
