Berrettini Coach: 2019 Has Been Incredible and Exciting

Vincenzo Santopadre, the coach of Italian tennis star Matteo Berrettini says the Italian has had an incredible and exciting year in which he moved from No. 54 in the world to the Top 10 in the world rankings.

According to Sportal, Santopadre says, "Matteo deserves everything he has won. The past year has been incredible and exciting. Matteo has continued to outdo himself every day, managing to complete himself exponentially and gradually become the coach of himself. He has improved in every aspect, it is no coincidence that he has collected results on all surfaces ".

Berrettini won 2 ATP titles in 2019 (in Budapest and Stuttgart) and also reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time - at the US Open - leading to the Italian qualifying for the season-ending ATP Finals - the third player from Italy to do so after Adriano Panatta and Corrado Barazzutti.

Santopadre says, "Matteo has matured so much this year, for our part, we must continue to trust him because he is a guy who always puts so much passion and will. I don't know if the season that will come will be more difficult, but it will certainly be different due to the expectations that Matteo was able to create: 2020 is upon us, now it is right to recharge the batteries, but we must be ready because it will be an important year ".

Santopadre says the Italian will begin his season at the ATP Cup in Perth followed by the Australian Open in Melbourne.
