Dominic Thiem: 'Sadly I am not allowed to ski at the moment'
Dominic Thiem spoke about his skiing skills. The Austrian player said: "I skied regularly until I was 14. I could ski down the slopes but looked terrible. I miss it. Sadly I’m not allowed to at the moment, the risk of injury is too high. But after my career I want to become good enough to ski down the Streif in Kitzbühel."
Thiem's brother Moritz on whether it’s curse or blessing to have such a famous brother:"I don’t care if he‘s #3 or #250, it doesn’t change how I feel about him. It has advantages, as I could train with him in the O2 Arena. The downside is that people expect me to play tennis as well as he does. His values stayed the same. Above all, he is down to earth despite the money and the fame. And I'm impressed by how much he knows. He has experienced a lot and can answer many questions, this is great. We always turned the garden into a tennis court. He won most of the time, I was too young. But not that I stand a chance today. He took me everywhere, despite the age difference. Domi never saw me as the annoying little brother. I can't imagine a better brother, there is never any problem between us. Dominic has always travelled a lot, so we enjoy our time together more intensively and consciously."
