Diego Schwartzman admits he just had no answer for Novak Djokovic's game
No. 14 seed Diego Schwartzman was full of praise for the performance Serb Novak Djokovic put up against him at the Australian Open on Sunday.
Djokovic, seeded at No. 2, reached the quarterfinal at Melbourne Park without much drama as he saw off the Argentine in straight sets 6-3 6-4 6-4.
Record seven-time Australian Open champion Djokovic claimed four breaks throughout the match and lost his serve only once in just over two hours of play.
"He was playing a very good tennis. I was running in a defensive position many, many times. He was serving so good, his second serve was so fast... So it was tough," Schwartzman told reporters after the match.
"Maybe for the first set and a half I was playing good tennis but you know he is a former world No. 1... He was playing better than me I think in the 90 percent (time) of the match.
"I was trying to keep improving in the match and be focused and not think about the score but playing against him was tough."
Djokovic, 32, has kept his perfect record over 27-year-old Schwartzman as he now owns a 4-0 head-to-head record over the Argentine.
