Bryan brothers react to winning Delray Beach title in last appearance at event
Bob Bryan, 41, admitted it was "amazing" to win it all at the Delray Beach Open again with his twin brother Mike Bryan.
The Bryan brothers, seeded at No. 1, edged out fourth-seeded Luke Bambridge and Ben McLachlan in the final 3-6 7-5 10-5 to lift their record sixth Delray Beach title.
The Bryans, who will retire after this year's Australian Open, debuted at the Delray Beach Open in 1999 and three times won back-to-back titles at the tournament as they went all the way in 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2020.
"It’s amazing to win this title again in our back yard,” Bob said, per the ATP Tour. “I have been staying at home and I got so much friends and family here. They kept us fighting and they kept us focused. Those are the people that have your back."
The Bryans have now won at least one title for 20 consecutive seasons as this year's Delray Beach title was their 119th team title.
"It’s cool [to win an ATP Tour title in 20 consecutive seasons]. It makes us feel old, but it makes us feel great that we can win and be this consistent over 20 years,” Mike said. “It feels like we are unscathed here, we won our last match in the city. We are always going to have pretty awesome memories coming to Delray.”
