Gilles Simon: Felix Auger-Aliassime isn't a finished product

Former world No. 6 Gilles Simon says rising Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime isn't a finished product as the 19-year-old has room for more improvement.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked at No. 18 in the world, edged out home favorite Simon 7-5 7-6 (2) in their second ATP meeting this past Saturday to advance to his maiden Marseille final.

The Canadian recovered from a break down in the first to set to steal the opener before he won a tight second set without breaks to improve his head-to-head record against Simon to 2-0.

"What is interesting about him is that he is young and already very good, with two or three more things to improve. His game is not yet completely finished, but it remains very effective," Simon said of Auger-Aliassime after their match, per L'Equipe.

Auger-Aliassime now has zero wins and five losses in his five ATP finals played as second-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas handed a straight-set defeat to the Canadian 6-3 6-4 in the Marseille final.
