Roger Federer: Tour of Latin America was magical trip for me

Record 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer says he has zero regrets about his tour of North and South America.

The Swiss delighted the fans across Latin America this past November as he played there five exhibition matches in six days.

Switzerland failed to qualify for the inaugural Davis Cup Finals and that enabled Federer to plan a tour across Latin America.

"If I had listened to everyone who had something to criticize, I would not have gone to South America. I would no longer travel to half of the countries. I would have stopped long ago. In South America it was about making people happy who hardly see tennis," Federer exclusively told Simon Graf of Tages-Anzeiger.

"I am in the entertainment business. It was a magical trip for me. It was emotional, exhausting, but beautiful. I have to be able to deal with critics. Sometimes I have to be able to say: Sorry, I don't care what they say. I was not on a political trip."

Federer, 38, is set to play a charity match against Rafael Nadal this Friday in South Africa.
