Australian Captain Lleyton Hewitt shows confidence in his team ahead of Brazil tie
Australian Davis Cup Team Captain Lleyton Hewitt is 100 percent confident that his team will give its best effort against Brazil in this week's qualifying round tie in Adelaide.
Australia will be without its two best-ranked players Alex de Minaur and Nick Kyrgios but Hewitt believes the guys who made themselves available for the tie are capable of earning the Australian team a spot for the Davis Cup Finals.
Jordan Thompson, ranked at No. 63 in the world, plays Brazil's Thiago Monteiro in the opening rubber of the tie, before 43rd-ranked Australian John Millman takes on rising star Thiago Seyboth Wild in the following rubber.
Meanwhile, James Duckworth and John Peers will take on the doubles duty for the Australian team as they were drawn to meet Marcelo Demoliner and Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves.
"I feel really confident going out there with the work that these boys have put in over the last seven or eight days,” Hewitt said, via Tennis Australia.
“All the guys are hitting the ball as well as we could have hoped for coming off all slightly different preparations for this tie. I feel like we’ve got them peaking at the right time.
“I have absolute confidence that they are going to go out there, play extremely well and leave it all on the court – not just for me and the team, but for the whole of our country.”
