Guido Pella withdraws from Indian Wells

Argentine tennis star Guido Pella has withdrawn from the Indian Wells Masters as he continues to recover from Morton's neuroma.

Pella, who performed surprisingly bad during the Golden Swing, revealed just over a week ago that he was diagnosed with Morton's Neuroma after the Australian Open.

After losing in the Rio Open first round, Pella revealed the diagnosis and underlined that he won't make a comeback until his health gets back to 100 percent.

As expected, former world No. 20 Pella pulled out of Indian Wells and he won't be making his sixth main draw appearance in the desert this year.

The Argentine has never made a deep run in Indian Wells as he has only twice made the third round at the tournament.

Following the withdrawal of Pella, a place in the Indian Wells main draw has opened for rising Italian star Jannik Sinner.

Sinner, the 2019 Next Gen ATP Finals champion, is set to make his debut appearance in the desert.

The 18-year-old Italian has made a good start to the 2020 season as last month he achieved his career-high ranking of No. 68 in the world.
