Roger Federer's Laver Cup announces Marriott International as the Official Hotel
The fourth edition of the Laver Cup will gather some of the world's finest players in Boston between September 25-27, with Team Europe seeking the fourth title under the guidance of Roger Federer, the first confirmed player so far. Back in September in Geneva, Team Europe prevailed against Team World in the deciding match, keeping the beautiful trophy in their cabinet and making a proper celebration out of it. After the opening two encounters of the final day, Team World had the edge over their rivals and it was Federer who had to defeat John Isner to keep Team Europe alive, prevailing in two close sets to reduce the deficit and send the attention to the last encounter between Alexander Zverev and Milos Raonic. Of course, it had to go down to the wire and the German prevailed in the match tie break to be the one who secured the title for Team Europe for the second time in a row, wrapping up an incredible event that highlighted tennis news during that weekend.
Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe will serve as team captains again in Boston, assuring another chapter of their rivalry that was one of the greatest in the world of tennis 40 years ago. After reaching the semi-final at the Australian Open, Roger announced knee surgery last week, skipping Dubai and all the action until Halle in June, hoping to make a full recovery and fight for the big titles again. Roger has competed in 11 Laver Cup matches so far, winning all six of those in singles and delivering two triumphs from five doubles clashes, sharing the court with his greatest rivals Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The organizers have revealed Marriott International as the Official Hotel of the Laver Cup, assembling another strong sponsor that would make the event even better one.
"We are excited to welcome Marriott International to our family of prestigious brands, as well as offer privileged opportunities for their Bonvoy members to experience the tournament," said Laver Cup CEO Steve Zacks. "Accommodations are an essential part of delivering a superior event. Collaborating with Marriott International ensures we have hotel options to satisfy the needs of every constituent, from fans to tournament staff to players. Demand for tickets to attend the Laver Cup has significantly exceeded supply every year. Marriott Bonvoy members can benefit from a special presale before tickets go on sale to the general public."
"In the same way that Laver Cup offers tennis fans a truly next-level experience, Marriott International is committed to igniting our guests' passions," said Steve Heitzner, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Marriott International, Americas. "Laver Cup is an inspiring celebration of the sport, and we're honored to share this experience with our guests and members."
