Alexander Zverev: I Have Agassi's Number and if I need Advice, I Also Turn to Him
German tennis star Alexander Zverev says he has been a big fan of former World No. 1 Andre Agassi since childhood and reaches out to him whenever he still needs advise.
Speaking to the German press, the World No. 7 says, "I've followed Agassi all my childhood. I was always a huge Agassi fan and used to wear the pirate cloth from him too."
Zverev also trained with Agassi for a brief time a few years ago and says he remains in touch with the eight-time Grand Slam champion. "I have his number and if I need advice, I also turn to him."
The American tennis legend turns 50 years old on Wednesday 29th April.
He lives in Las Vegas now with his wife - German tennis legend Steffi Graf and their two children. "I wish him all the best and hope that he has 50 more years ahead of him."
While Agassi has worked with several tennis players including Novak Djokovic and Grigor Dimitrov in recent years after his retirement, his main focus continues to remain his educational ventures in Las Vegas.
Besides winning eight Grand Slams, Agassi also won the 1996 Olympic gold medal, and was a runner-up at seven other Grand Slam tournaments.
Agassi became only the second male player to win all four Grand Slam singles titles in his career after Rod Laver - he was later joined by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in this select group.
