Leo Borg set to train at Rafa Nadal Academy

Swede Leo Borg, 17, has left The Royal Tennis Club of Stockholm to train at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor.

Borg, the son of former 11-time Grand Slam champion Bjorn Borg, hopes to make a name for himself on the Tour.

This past February, Borg made his professional debut at the Bergamo Challenger after receiving a wildcard into the event.

The Swede won only a total of four games in his Bergamo opener as two-time Grand Slam junior champion Chun-hsin Tseng won 6-3 6-1.

A week later, Borg appeared at the Pau Challenger after the tournament organizers decided to hand him a wildcard.

The Swede stood no chance against Ernests Gulbis in his Pau opener as the 2014 French Open semifinalist won 6-2 6-3.

"At first it was a bit difficult to manage the comparisons with my father, but now it’s all right,” Borg said after his first professional match. “In all my life it has never happened to look for it on Youtube. Of course we spoke before today’s match and he told me to enjoy the moment, to have fun and not to think about victory or defeat.”

"I will try to combine both, playing junior as well as professional tournaments. I will come back to play junior tournaments, but I hope to make some ATP points, too, competing in Challenger tournaments as well as on the ITF World Tennis Tour.”
