Roger Federer's best memory - 2007 edition: The only Slam win against Djokovic

Roger Federer's career is studded with great successes and incredible records: with 20 Slams he is the record holder but the Swiss Maestro achieved other great goals, such as eight triumphs at Wimbledon, the weeks as world no. 1, and the titles on grass and hard-courts. For each season, however, there is a particular goal, an achievement that should be highlighted. In 2007, Roger won eight titles that included three Majors: in September, he won the only Slam final to date against Novak Djokovic.

Considering the evolution of his career and the rivalry with Djokovic, today we can say that his victory with his Serbian rival is perhaps the biggest goal of Federer's 2007. Even more than the epic Wimbledon final won against Rafael Nadal in five sets.

But let's proceed in order.

On 28th January 2007, he won the Australian Open by beating Fernando González in the final in three sets. At the French Open he lost in the final against Rafael Nadal, in what was already the strongest rivalry of this tennis era. In the Wimbledon final, Roger faced Nadal again: the Spaniard showed further progress compared to 2006 final. Roger needed five sets, and came with  superb performance to beat Nadal with the final score of 7-6(7), 4-6, 7-6(3), 2-6, 6-2. Roger was later able to beat his rival again in a Slam final, but it didn't happen with Djokovic.

To reach the 2007 US Open final Federer defeated Jenkins, Capdeville, Isner, Felciano Lopez, Andy Roddick and Nikolaj Davydenko. The final against Djokovic was hard-fought: the Swiss Maestro won in three sets with the final score of 7-6 4) 7-6 (2) 6-4. From that day forward, Roger Federer played four more Slam finals against Novak Djokovic, but he failed to win any of them.
