Toni Nadal: 'The best moment I had with Rafael Nadal was...'

Rafael Nadal’s uncle and former coach Toni Nadal answered some questions from fans in a video shared by the Spanish tennis star’s Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar.

Most of the questions obviously involved Toni Nadal's work with his nephew - from both when he only coached him as a junior and then later as a professional - and the first topic that he talked about was in response to being asked "What was the best moment with Rafa on the Tour? What was the lowest moment?"

While he did not mention a 'lowest moment', the Spanish coach gave his take on what the 'best moment' has been.

"Exactly, I don’t know, because I was very lucky. I had many good moments with Rafael in Roland Garros and Wimbledon and at the US Open or in Monte Carlo," he explained.

However, upon reflection, he came to a conclusion that really bears his brand mark. Toni Nadal never focuses on the surface, substance is all that matters to him.

"But at the end the best moment for me was in the practice court," he added with a smile, "When we tried to improve some shots. And then the result of these improvements were the titles."

Toni was also asked to define his nephew, both professionally and personally, to which he answered that Rafael Nadal is "a person dedicated to what he does, passionate about his activity, and with a clear desire for improvement ever since he was very young. And personally, I define him as a good person, a normal person who has not changed despite having been very successful in his work."
