Andrey Rublev asked to choose between Maria Sharapova and Anna Kournikova on IG Live

Rising Russian star Andrey Rublev, 22, refused to choose between Maria Sharapova and Anna Kournikova when asked by a fan do so on Instagram Live. 

Rublev, ranked at No. 14 in the world, was on Instagram Live on Wednesday night and he was answering some of fan questions during his session. 

Both Sharapova and Kournikova enjoyed success on the WTA Tour but their looks contributed to their fame and celebrity status. 

'Sharapova or Kournikova?' Rublev, hesitating: Sharapova... because I know her. But what do you mean? How am I supposed to choose one? Q. Based on their appearance. Rublev, innocently: I don't look at them this way. THEY ARE MUCH OLDER THAN ME. 🤣🤣🤣

Once again: Rublev said it in most innocent way, that's why it was so hilarious. He wasn't like, 'They are too old for me' — he was like, 'I'm a boy and they are ladies, it's inappropriate for me to judge their look'

Rublev made a strong start to the season as he captured back-to-back ATP titles in Adelaide and Doha before he made the round-of-16 at the Australian Open. 

The 22-year-old Russian says he still has a hard time dealing with losses.

Rublev's Instagram Live appearance was full of positive spirits and energy.
