Andy Murray donates full prize money from winning Mutua Madrid Open Virtual Pro
Former world No. 1 Andy Murray has announced that he will donate his full prize money from the Mutua Madrid Open Virtual Pro.
Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion, beat 2017 Nitto ATP Finals champion Davis Goffin in the final of the online event and won $45,000 in prize money.
Shortly after winning the tournament, Murray announced via his Instagram account that he will donate the half of the prize money to the player relief fund and half to the UK National Health Service
"Hope anyone who watched got some sort of enjoyment out of it in these tough times," Murray said in an Instagram post.
"I’ll be donating half of the 45 thousand dollars prize money to the NHS and the other half to the tennis player relief fund."

Murray, now ranked at No. 129 in the world, absolutely enjoyed competing in the Mutua Madrid Open Virtual Pro.
"It was good. I enjoyed it, there's not much we can do just now, we spend most of the days indoors and can't get out much so it was a fun thing to do," Murray said.
