Dustin Brown: Honestly it's surreal to be back playing matches

German tennis player Dustin Brown didn't hide his excitement after returning to court in an exhibition event as he described playing again as a "surreal" experience.

On Friday, the Tennis Point Exhibition Series kicked off at the Base Tennis Centre near Koblenz, with eight players featuring the event. 

The event features no fans, line judges, ball kids and players aren't allowed to handshake after the match. 

"It's nice to finally play, it's a little surreal to be honest, with everything that is actually going on in the world," Brown told Tennis Channel, as revealed on Sky Sports.

"With all the safety guidelines I think everyone has done pretty well, doing their best. Even sometimes when it's not that easy. Very happy to be out here and have some fun."

The ATP Tour has been suspended since March 12 and at the best there won't be any tournaments held until at least mid-July. 

Brown won both of his matches on Friday, before he picked up a win and a loss a day later at the Base exhibition.

"There is not that much pressure," Brown claimed. "It's hard to get up and train when you don't know when you can play so this event has definitely helped the mindset for the last couple of weeks, knowing something might happen.

"It's been a little light at the end of the tunnel."

Brown, who famously stunned world No. 2 Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon in 2017, is one of the main favorites to win the exhibition event in Base.
