Novak Djokovic on realizing his passion for tennis is fueled by purpose
Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic says he has always been extremely motivated to achieve the biggest things in tennis but finding a purpose in all of that has been the key behind his success.
Djokovic, ranked at No. 1 in the world, has captured 17 Grand Slam titles over the course of his career as he has made it clear that he is aiming to overcome 20-time Major champion Roger Federer on the all-time Grand Slam record list.
"Most of my visualization was going towards winning trophies and accomplishing my dreams," Djokovic said during his Instagram Live session with motivational speaker Jay Shetty, as revealed on Tennis.com.
"I see it as a platform where I’m able to grow. The tennis court for me in a way is a battlefield and a classroom—it allows me to share my passion with others."
Shetty, who has six million followers on Instagram, says he is far from being done as his goal is to keep improving and getting better.
"You don’t become the best tennis player in life by just practicing on Sunday morning," Shetty said. “You have to make it a lifestyle.
"You gave me the opportunity to show people that athletes are doing so much work in the background that people don’t see."
Shetty absolutely enjoyed his Instagram Live session with Djokovic as he concluded the session by saying: "This has been such a wonderful conversation. We are so different in what we do but so aligned in our heart."
