Coric on Kyrgios criticizing Adria Tour: I couldn't care less about his comments

Croatian tennis star Borna Coric had a long and tough day when he received the news that he was coronavirus positive. 

Coric, who competed at the Adria Tour event in Zadar, played against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov just a day before the 2017 Nitro ATP Finals champion tested positive for the coronavirus.

On June 22 -- two days after playing Dimitrov -- two-time ATP champion Coric announced his tests came back as positive. 

"That Monday was really chaotic. Hundreds of information, calls, people… I was not happy, of course. It was hard to read negative articles and comments, but again, I can’t pay too much attention to what others think and say. A long time ago I accepted this as an integral part of my career and life," Coric told Espreso.

Luckily for Coric, his recovery from the coronavirus went smooth as the Croatian was showing no symptoms during his 14-day self isolation.

Novak Djokovic, the founder of the Adria Tour, also tested positive for the coronavirus and later didn't show a single symptom.

"We spoke twice through text messages, we were checking out the situation and asking if there was any symptoms. As far as I know, he (Djokovic) also didn't show any symptoms," Coric said.

Coric not too thrilled about Nick Kyrgios' comments 

Australian tennis star Kyrgios wasn't a fan of the scenes that took place at the Adria Tour and he later unloaded on Alexander Zverev after the German was spotted partying in Monaco a week after the Adria Tour event in Zadar.

2018 Nitto ATP Finals champion Zverev tested negative for the coronavirus in Zadar but promised he would still self quarantine for 14 days. 

"So I wake up and I see more controversial things happening all over the world, but one that stuck out for me was seeing Zverev again man, again, again, how selfish can you be? How selfish can you be?" Kyrgios said in late-June.

"I mean, if you have the audacity to put out a f***ing tweet that you made your management write on your behalf saying you are going to self isolate for 14 days and apologising to f***ing general public for putting their health at risk, at least have the audacity to stay inside for 14 days. My god. 

"Have your girlfriend with you for f***ing 14 days. Jesus, man. It pisses me off. This tennis world pisses me off. How selfish can you all get?"

Coric says he would never do such a thing.

"It's just him, I have no other explanation. I read what he wrote, but I couldn't care less because he also likes to be a general after the battle. If someone else was giving lectures, maybe I'd understand, but Kyrgios… That's not really realistic. But okay, that's his style, that's how he works and I don't have a problem with that, nor do I mind on a personal level. Zverev acted badly, but I don't see the need to call out fellow players in that way. I wouldn't do that, but again -- that's Kyrgios," Coric said.
