Teams announced for the Battle of the Brits Team Tennis event
The teams for the St James's Place Battle of the Brits Team Tennis event has been confirmed with each side having 13 players as the top men's and women's players from Great Britain will join forces to play for the Union Jacks & the British Bulldogs.
Teams for the St James's Place Battle of the Brits Team Tennis eventAccording to the LTA website, the Union Jacks team will be captained by British tennis legends Judy Murray & Greg Rusedski. The team features men’s British No. 1 Dan Evans, who won the men’s Battle of the Brits event at the National Tennis Centre in June. Women's British No. 2 Heather Watson, who will play her first event after the lockdown & Katie Boulter, who won last week's Proress Tour Women’s Championship, will play for the Union Jacks. Three-time Grand Slam singles champion, Andy Murray & seven-time Grand Slam doubles winner, Jamie Murray will also be part of the team,
The British Bulldogs team will be led by both the Fed Cup and Davis Cup captains, Anne Keothavong & Leon Smith, includes women’s British No. 1 Johanna Konta and Harriet Dart, both of whom will be playing their first tournament since the lockdown. British men’s No. 2 Kyle Edmund, current Australian Open men’s doubles champion, Joe Salisbury, Emma Radcanu & Cam Norrie will also be playing for the British Bulldogs.

British Bulldogs - Kyle Edmund, Johanna Konta, Cam Norrie, Harriet Dart, Liam Broady, Emma Raducanu, Aidan McHugh, Maia Lumsden, Alastair Gray, Eden Silva, Joe Salisbury, Beth Grey and Dom Inglot
Jamie Murray, the organizer of the tournament, had earlier said, "It will be Ryder Cup-style. We think it's a cool idea to get all the best British players together, competing in one event. We will continue to raise funds for charity during the week of competition”.
The teams will accumulate points from individual matches, as they race to the target of 60 points - which will see them being crowned as Battle of the Brits Team champions.
