The Czech is playing the WTA event in Prague this week - her first professional event since February. She is seeded No. 7 in singles and meets Sara Sorribes Tormo in the first round. In doubles, she is partnering with World no. 2 Simona Halep, of Romania, and the duo meet Veronika Kudermetova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the first round.

Speaking to the WTA Tour website, Strycova says, "I've always wanted to play with her and I have so much respect for her. She's such an amazing champion. It's really such a privilege to play with her here."

Strycova also added that the current tennis shutdown has made her undecided about her tennis future as she was really looking forward to playing the Olympic Games in Tokyo.  "It's a great question and I think it's a tough question to answer. As you said, 2020 was supposed to be my last year and the Olympics would be the cherry on the cake and everything changed. On one hand I want to say I don't want this to be it. I want to continue because I want to play full and I want to play tournaments like it should be played. This is how I want to do it. On the other hand, I don't miss traveling and I really like where I am. It's really tough to start again. Let's see how I feel at the end, how many tournaments we will play through the end of the year. And there's always Australia, my lovely country. So let's see."

Barbora Strýcová has been ranked as high as No. 16 in singles and is a former World No. 1 in doubles.  She reached the semi-finals in singles at Wimbledon last year and also won the women's doubles title with Hsieh Su-Wei at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships. Overall, she has won two WTA singles titles and 30 WTA doubles titles in her career. She also won a bronze medal in women's doubles at the 2016 Olympic Games with Lucie Å afářová.
