Lockdown babies!! Tatiana Golovin, Shahar Peer and Mandy Minella are pregnant

Tennis - While tennis has only recently resumed after the shutdown of the tennis circuit in March, there is some good news on the personal front for WTA players Tatiana Golovin, Shahar Peer and Mandy Minella - as all of them have announced that they are pregnant.

32 year old Tatiana Golovin, of France, who peaked at No. 12 in the world rankings, announced on social media that she will be welcoming her third child soon, "In a very complicated 2020, our family welcomes joyful news 🤰❗️BABY #3"

Golovin attempted a comeback to the tennis circuit at the end of last year and played a couple of events as well. With her latest pregnancy, it looks unlikely she will be playing for sometime now.

Meanwhile, former World No. 11 Shahar Peer will welcome her second child, according to the News1 website. Peer had her first child - a son named Nafti last year.  Peer also announced that the news on social media, saying, "Nafti is waiting for his little sister.”

The Isreali Peer retired in February 2017, one year after her last match on the tour. She married her husband Dr. Ram in 2018. The couple will also be having a daughter.

Luxembourg's Mandy Minella will also become a mother for the second time in December. Minella announced that she is expecting her second child in December with husband Tim Sommer, who is also her trainer.  Their first daughter Emma is now two and a half years old and the couple will also be welcoming another daughter, according to the Luxemburger Wort website. The 34 year old Minella is currently ranked No. 148 in singles and No. 102 in doubles. She says she plans to comeback for the 2021 French Open using her protected ranking.

Recently, several players have made a comeback to the tennis circuit after becoming a mother, including former World No. 1 Serena Williams, who is now ranked No. 9 in the world, former World No. 1 Kim Clijsters, who returned after a seven year break earlier this season, former World No. 1 in singles Victoria Azarenka and former World No. 1 in doubles Sania Mirza.
