Canada's Vasek Pospisil has started a new business venture called Hekate

The 30 year old Vasek Pospisil posted an update on his social media account announcing the new venture.

"Over the past year, I’ve been working on something to help you maximize your performance. My co-founders and I are excited to announce that HEKATE is finally here! This is just the beginning, go to  @hekate_health  on IG or http://hekate.com to find out more! #LetsDoMushrooms"

As per the company's website, Hekate is a functional mushroom based product. The website says that Pospisil began taking functional mushroooms in 2019 to maximise his performance and help in his recovery from surgery. His partners in the venture are Justin Kates and Russell Henderson.

Pospisil is the latest tenins player to venture into something outside of the tennis world - Serena Williams already has several business ventures including her own investment fund through which she invests in companies. Sister Venus Williams has her own fashion line and her interior design business. Roger Federer has his own agency Team8 which represents several athletes and also owns the Laver Cup. Naomi Osaka has also ventured into creating her own fashion line.

Vasek Pospisil has a career-high world singles ranking of No. 25, and No. 4 in doubles. He won the 2014 Wimbledon Championships and the 2015 Indian Wells Masters men's doubles title, along with partner Jack Sock and also reached the quarterfinals in singles at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. In January 2019, Pospisil underwent surgery to repair a herniated disk. He was out of action until the 2019 Wimbledon Championships. At last year's Davis Cup Finals, he was part of Canada's first ever run to the Davis Cup final in the 119-year history of the event, defeating Russia, Australia, the United States and Italy en route to the finals. He is currently ranked No. 93 in the world in singles and has also been a part of the ATP Players Council.

Here's wishing Vasek Pospisil and his business partners all the very best for their new venture.
