Rublev: 'Roger Federer emits positive vibes'

Among the great protagonists of the 2020 season there is certainly Andrey Rublev, the only player together with Novak Djokovic capable of winning four titles in this very strange year. After reaching the quarter-finals at the Roland Garros, the Russian has imposed himself in front of the public friend of St. Petersburg by relaunching his ambitions to qualify for the London Masters.

The young Muscovite, who has scored 37 victories in 2020 up to now, has also decided to participate in the Sofia tournament, where he will be forced to start from the qualifiers (not having registered in time).

Rublev's career finally turned last year in Cincinnati, when he eliminated Roger Federer in two sets and finally gained awareness in his means. In a recent interview with Sport Express, Andrey praised the availability of the 20-time Grand Slam champion off the pitch, an aspect that never ceases to amaze colleagues and professionals.

Rublev: "It's very easy to talk to Roger Federer"

"I can only say good things about Roger Federer. He is one of the best tennis players in history, yet it is very easy to talk to him. It only emits positive vibes ”- said Rublev. The latter has a similar relationship with Rafael Nadal, with whom he had trained as far back as 2014. "With Rafa the level of communication is more or less the same as I described for Roger.

Perhaps, if I had taken the initiative in the past, maybe he would have given me some useful advice for the continuation of my career. Everything I wanted to know emerges from their interviews. For example, Nadal constantly explains how he tunes for his matches.

There are no secrets. I think Rafa is the best athlete in the world from the point of view of mental stability. If we talk about natural talent, Roger is the undisputed number 1. Challenges with both helped me gain a different awareness. Until a year ago I was not so sure of myself" - he added.

Roger Federer should come back for the upcoming edition of the Australian Open 2021, after he skipped the most of 2020 due to the two surgeries on his right knee. He also play the Australian Open this season, losing against the eventual champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets. He also was the protagonist of the Match for Africa 6 with Rafael Nadal in February.
