'Serena Williams can still win all four Majors, but only when..,' says Mouratoglou

Serena Williams' coach Patrick Mouratoglou believes that the veteran can win Major titles at all four world's most significant events! The 39-year-old currently stands on 23 Major crowns, the Open era record that doesn't satisfy Serena, who wants to follow Margaret Court and claim that elusive 24th Major trophy that she has been chasing for four years. Williams beat her sister Venus at the Australian Open 2017 for the 23rd Major title, taking a break from tennis and giving birth to a daughter later that year. Serena returned in the spring of 2018, determined to play her best tennis and stay competitive at the biggest scene.
Finding her A-game quickly, Serena reached Wimbledon and the US Open final that year, repeating that in 2019 but staying empty-handed after dropping all four title matches! The American reached the US Open semi-final last year and did the same this February in Melbourne, playing on a high level before Naomi Osaka ousted her in straight sets. Per Mouratoglou, Serena can still conquer all four Majors when she is at 100% physically, showing great tennis in Melbourne and hoping for more of the same in Paris, London and New York in the rest of the season.
Patrick Mouratoglou backs Serena Williams to win more Major titles."I think Serena can play very well on clay; she has to be very fit because the serve is not as efficient on clay, and you have to work much more to win the point; every rally is a fight. But I feel if she's ready and at 100% physically, then she can be very dangerous on clay as well. The level is high, but I still believe that Serena can win any Major when she is at her best physically. Serena was extremely disappointed after the Australian Open loss because she felt ready to win it; her level was high in Melbourne. Serena felt it might be her chance, and she left Australia mighty disappointed about her performance against Osaka.
Naomi played on a high level, and Serena couldn't match that level. It's always difficult to take positive notes when you have a big disappointment, but I told her that her fitness was great and that we have to keep working like that. There is a hurdle that we need to pass, but she's been close so many times. You have to be as fit as possible, so that's the plan. Of course, there's always a mental fight against pressure and yourself, which is part of what tennis is about," Patrick Mouratoglou said.
