Ladies Italian Open, countdown has started

The countdown for the Ladies Italian Open has started: the countdown for the Margara race is now a matter of hours. It is played from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th May. For the occasion, I made a hit and run at the Fubine club (Alessandria) to catch the mood, promising to come back at the end of the Open to talk calmly about tourism and territory.

Ladies Italian Open, statements

Gian Marco Griffi, director said that "the Ladies Italian Open is a unique opportunity as a club and as a federation. Bringing back to Italy, in Piedmont, a circuit like the Ladies European Tour (which had been missing for seven years) with players from all over the world, we all win. Golf wins, but the Region also wins and immediately understood what a wonderful occasion such an event could be. Everything is ready: the Open will take place following the strict, but necessary, anti-Covid protocols also imposed by the European Tour. Members will have a dedicated entrance to play on the path not occupied by the tournament. Volunteers will come to give us a hand. There are four international referees, including three women. Everything was organized with a bit of effort as we are also planning a stage of the Challenge Tour in July but after seeing this empty field for so many months, it will be a joy to see it come back to life. "

Michela Zerrilli, marketing manager, said that "bringing the Ladies Italian Open back to Italy was a project that Chimenti had in her heart for some time and Maria Amelia Lolli Ghetti was happy to propose this golf club as a venue for a prestigious event. Our president has always been at the forefront and attentive to women's golf. Margara is by vocation a club for families: just think that the structure was developed and expanded around what was the home of the Lolli Ghetti. The family imprint has remained. Families are welcome here. The club offers play areas and dedicated activities. We have members who spent their childhood here and who returned to the club with their families. This is one of the targets we are aiming for for future generations. We are also fortunate to be able to offer a series of extraordinary experiences in the area in which we strongly believe in developing a tourist destination. We have established a close relationship with all the excellences in the surrounding area, from wineries to chocolate shops. Those who come to Margara, in addition to living the golfing experience on our 36 holes, can devote themselves to learning about the rich experiences linked to our territory ".
