Boris Becker Denies He Will Be Working with Simona Halep
Tennis - Former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker has denied reports that he has been appointed as an advisor to World No. 1 Simona Halep, of Romania. The six-time Grand Slam champion tweeted, "For info: I will NOT be a trainer or consultant for @Simona_Halep! It was also never discussed although I greatly appreciate Simo. I am filled with my tasks in tennis! @Eurosport_DE @BBCSport @DTB_Tennis etc."

Halep had split from coach Darren Cahill earlier this year and she worked on the off-season training with Romanian Fed Cup captain Florin Segarceanu. However, Segarceanu has made it clear that he will not be coaching Halep permanently. Reports earlier had suggested that Becker was appointed a consultant for Halep, who finished the 2018 season as World No. 1 and won her first Grand Slam at the French Open.
Becker had worked with World No. 1 Novak Djokovic from 2013 to 2016 and since August last year, he has been working as the 'Head of Men's Tennis' at the German Tennis Federation. He is also working as a commentator and TV expert for Eurosport and BBC.
