Krajicek: 'If Nadal and Djokovic complain about Federer, it's a problem'

There has been a lot of buzz around Julien Benneteau's quotes about Roger Federer's privileges on Tour like regularly competing in the Australian Open night session. But the Rotterdam Open Tournament Director Richard Krajicek feels it's normal that Federer is in a special position. 'I understand Benneteau's point of view but Federer is just amazing', Krajicek said as quoted by Nos. 'No one gets attention the way he does so it's not surprising that Federer often plays at night. It will become a problem only if opponents Nadal and Djokovic will complain about it, so you have to get worried as a Tournament. But I don't remember someone criticized Federer's schedule.'

Krajicek believes that also other events could have helped players in the past: 'It was always said that the Rome clay-courts tournament wanted Becker to win so the tournament had made the balls tougher and had put less clay on court.'

Krajicek also recalled what happened in 1994 Los Angeles: 'Due to the heat, I had asked if I could play semifinals at night, but Becker was decisive and so I had to play in the afternoon. I had not won three Wimbledon titles.'
