Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are amazing guys, says Pablo Andujar

Pablo Andujar commented on Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer playing at the highest level of tennis. The Spaniard won his 11th French Open this year while the Swiss retained his title at the Australian Open. 'Nadal and Federer are two amazing guys, it's not so much of a surprise that they are there but the way they adopted their tennis surprises me', said Andujar. 'They are so good that they are adapting their tennis to the changes you had. Federer now plays much more direct than before, he does not hit too many balls and Rafa is more aggressive. It made them be where they are and I cannot forget Djokovic who is back and is the solid number one.'

Andujar believes the dominance of the Tour by veteran players is given by the prevention of the injuries and the improvements that have been made on this aspect. 'When I started, at 27 years people were leaving tennis and now it's at 37. It's not because the youngest ones are worse, it's because guys care about themselves much more, the professionalism increased on a physical level.'

That's why Andujar disagrees with Marat Safin saying young guys 'are very bad'. 'I believe the level of top 100 players keeps being the same now than at his time. Now younger players play the same as before, but I think the level from 100 to 300 improved a lot. Now I had to play many more Challengers and the level improved a lot.'

Federer and Nadal will respectively start their season in Perth (Hopman Cup) and Brisbane.
