Roger Federer named the 30th best dressed man in 2018
Roger Federer has always been characterised, over his career, by an elegant gamestyle but also for his off-court style, setting a trend through his outfits. He is connected to the fashion world and he is a close friend of the stylist, Anna Wintour.
This year Federer split with Nike and started a ten-year co-operation with Uniqlo, that sponsors him both on and off-court. The Basel native was ranked 30th on the 2018 list of the best-dressed men published by GQ.
The GQ Associate Editor Paul Henderson said: 'The greatest male tennis player of all time is always impeccably turned out on court, so it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that he carries that same effortless sense of style off it.'
Meanwhile in an interview to Sport360, the FC Manchester City player Raheem Sterling said he gets inspired by the likes of Federer and Nadal to become a more complete player: 'I look at these people's mentalities and not just their ability. It's the mentalities of every great sportsman you learn from', said Sterling. 'LeBron James in the NBA, in tennis your Nadals, Federers, people like this. They stay at the top for a long time. It's no different with me. To be compared to some of the best players in the world you have to be winning the biggest and best competitions, that's the Premier League, the Champions League, and also stuff for your country. So, until that day you can't think that's it. You have to be aiming for that. I feel I've got a long way to go to be the complete player. I feel I will be a complete player when I win the Premier League again, the Champions League and everything else. That's the level you have got to get to when you are playing at the highest level. Just scoring goals ain't enough, it's about scoring goals to win the biggest competitions.'
