Serena Williams: 'My destiny was to play tennis'

What Serena Williams would have been if she did not play tennis? The American has literally no idea. 'I grew up playing tennis. I have a picture or saw a picture when I was in a stroller on the tennis court. I think my destiny was to play tennis', said Serena.

She added: 'I went to fashion school. I love to do acting. I do have a fashion collection. In fact, we're showing again in New York, so excited about that. So, yeah, that was my only real passion outside of that was doing something in fashion. I pursued it and I'm still doing it while I'm playing tennis.'

Serena recalled the Twin Towers fall: 'Time flies so fast. It's a time that all Americans really kind of reminisce. It's a moment I don't think any American can forget. I was in New York at the time, and also in DC, so it was just a really horrible, really scary, scary moment for me and my whole family. So, yeah, it was a disaster.'

Asked if she remembers anything that really stands out, Serena replied: 'I was in DC, and there were just Army trucks everywhere. And I was really scared, and it was almost like, I guess, a war scene, because the whole streets were filled with these huge tanks. I remember thinking, oh, my gosh, this is crazy.'
