Djokovic's coach:'Federer is part of a big family that comes from Slovakia'

Marian Vajda is happy with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic's wins. The two players have won 34 Grand Slam titles combined, respectively 20 for the Swiss and 14 for the Spaniard, and Vajda has been the Serb's coach for more than a decade, excluding the April 2017-April 2018 period.

Federer's wife, Mirka, is from Slovakia, the same country as Vajda. Speaking to Sport24, Vajda said: 'Roger is part of a big family that comes from Slovak. We can be proud that Djokovic and Federer's successes are going through our Slovakian blood. And Mirka still keeps the traditions, I know well her parents. They live in Switzerland, but they want to stay in touch with Slovakia. The last time, I knew that Mirka and Roger's parents had organized a special night at home to watch my brother Jozek (who is an actor).'

Like Federer, Djokovic used to train in Dubai several years ago, but he now trains in Monte Carlo. His coach Marian Vajda won the ATP Coach of the Year award and in an interview, Vajda said: 'I would like to really dedicate this to all of our team. I’m really glad that after coming back, he reached No. 1 in the world.'
