Rafael Nadal set to get married with longtime girlfriend
'For the wedding there is time, I will think about it after retiring from tennis". This is what Rafael Nadal said many times when he was asked about having a family like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic or Andy Murray. But he may have switched idea, as the Hola Magazine reported that Nadal and his longtime girlfriend Maria Francisca Perello will get married in Autumn this year.
They reportedly got engaged in May last year in Rome and in the last eight months no one - but family members and close friends - learned about the news 'I like kids and I would like my kids to do what they want', Nadal confessed in an interview to ESPN last year in Acapulco, Mexico. He will probably soon make the first step, getting married probably in late October or November, or December when the tennis off-season goes on. A few months ago Hola had also revealed that another Spanish player, Fernando Verdasco, and his wife Ana Boyer would become father.
Nadal and Perello have been dating for 14 years. She has a business degree and works at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor.
After his loss to Djokovic, Nadal said: "To play against a player like him, playing the way he played tonight, I needed that defensive game to finally have the chance to be offensive, no? When he was hitting, is true that maybe was difficult to beat him even if I was at my 100%. But probably will be a little bit more fight."
