Stefanos Tsitsipas reflects on tough AO win over qualifier Viktor Troicki

Rising Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas admits it wasn't the easiest day at the office for him on Wednesday at Melbourne Park. 

The world No. 15 survived a tricky Australian Open second round clash against 200th-ranked qualifier Viktor Troicki 6-3 2-6 6-2 7-5.

"It's tough with this conditions. Viktor played his best, he tried to put pressure on me, I was a bit more agressive. (I'm) very happy with the win," Tsitsipas told Eurosport post-match. 

Lots of Greek fans showed up in the stands to support the 2018 NextGen ATP Finals champion. 

"But (a) very nice support here, from the fans, from the people who came to watch...Greek community. The energy and the vibes on the court were incredible. The feeling at the end was just unbelievable, I felt great," Tsitsipas admitted. 

No. 14 seed Tsitsipas is set to clash next against rising Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili.

The two have no previous meetings. 

"Although I can't admit that I played my best but I fought hard. (I'm) very happy and pleased to be in the third round," Tsitsipas acknowledged. 

Tsitsipas was full of praise for the Greek fans as their support lifts his game. 

"As I said, they give you a lot of energy, they encourage you, they give you the motivation. It's nice having them on the court and it's a Davis Cup atmosphere here in Melbourne. I (have) never played Davis Cup but I can imagine that's how it is when you play" Tsitsipas claimed.
