ATP Doubles: No. 1 seeds Ivan Dodig, Edouard Roger-Vasselin win Montpellier

No. 1 seeds Ivan Dodig and Edouard Roger-Vasselin have won the 2019 Open Sud de France doubles title. 

Croatia's Dodig and French Roger-Vasselin defeated France's Benjamin Bonzi and Antoine Hoang in the Montpellier doubles final 6-4 6-3. 

No break points were seen until the 10th game of the first set, when Dodig and Roger-Vasselin won the game on a deciding point to clinch the opener. 

Dodig and Roger-Vasselin broke the French wildcard duo in the fourth game, before they got broken back immediately in the following game. 

However, the top-seeds broke Bonzi and Hoang in the sixth game and then held on to their serve to clinch the win. 

Dodig and Roger-Vasselin blew a match point in the eighth game and saved a break point in the ninth game. 

Dodig and Roger-Vasselin won 80 percent of their first serve points, converted 3-of-5 of their break point chances and saved 2-of-3 of Bonzi and Hoang's break point opportunities in an hour and nine minutes of play. 

Elsewhere, Croatian Nikola Mektic and Austria's Jurgen Melzer have made it all the way at the Sofia Open. 

Mektic, 30, and 37-year-old Melzer defeated Hsieh Cheng-Peng and Christopher Rungkat in the Sofia doubles final 6-2 4-6 10-2. 

Mektic and Melzer broke Cheng-Peng and Rungkat in the second and eighth game to comfortably win the opener. 

Cheng-Peng and Rungkat broke Mektic and Melzer in the ninth game to take a 5-4 second-set lead, before they won the following game on a deciding point to force a decider. 

The two pairs were tied at 1-1 in the match tie-break, when Mektic and Melzer went on to win eight points In a row. 

Cheng-Peng and Rungkat saved the first match point but Mektic and Melzer converted their second match point to earn the win in an hour and seven minutes of action. 

Mektic and Melzer converted just 2-of-8 of their break point chances but saved 5-of-6 of Cheng-Peng and Rungkat's break point opportunities. 

It was the first team ATP title for Mektic and Melzer.
