David Ferrer:'I was not motivated enough against Nadal in 2013 French Open'
In an interview to ATP ES David Ferrer recalled his straight-set 2013 French Open final loss to Rafael Nadal. "I did not have a chance, but the motivation to play that match was not the best one. I headed into the court feeling a bit empty. And it was normal because it was my first final, it's something logical. But neither I nor my team knew more in that match. We did what we could."
In an interview to ATP ES the former world No. 3 David Ferrer was asked who was the toughest player he ever faced in his career. "For me, Roger Federer. He changed the rhythm and made me get crazy. I made him sweat like many other players, but I never had the chance to beat him", said Ferrer, who lost 17 times over 17 matches played against the Swiss.
What players did he feel to be dominant again? "I can say that with David Nalbandian I felt comfortable playing. He is a great player but I was okay with him. But you also have players with who I always suffered. There are game styles that fit you. Then there are others that make you struggle more."
Did this life go on very fast? "Yes because I was happy. When life goes on slowly or you are in a situation where you do not like everything you get slower. If you do a job you do not like I imagine that it goes on very slow. Without a doubt, I love what I do."
