Tsitsipas not keen to open up on controversial quote about Roger Federer
Through his Twitter account, Stefanos Tsitsipas commented on his remarks during the doubles final at the Miami Open. The Greek player claimed the umpires favour Roger Federer and the other big players. However, he does not want to make any further claim on that. "Roger Federer is always going to be my favourite player no matter what. I don’t want to drag him into this. It’s not his fault or intention, it’s the umpires that are trying to protect them more than they are supposed to. Nothing more than that", said the 20-year-old.
Tsitsipas also commented on the importance of taking holidays: "Vacation is the best thing to freeze time. When you are constantly on the run and touring you feel like time is passing fast. It’s all about routines and doing pretty much the same thing over and over again, which is not bad but sometimes it’s too much for your brain."
He believes the Tour is a healthy place: "I think players that have been doing really well over the years, players that are generally much respected in the tennis world have privileges when it comes to certain rules and umpire decisions. I felt this couple of times when playing these guys and I think it’s a bit unfair."
