Jo-Wilfried Tsonga speaks about Nick Kyrgios
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was asked what's his favorite doubles partner in an interview to Tennis Channel. The Frenchman said: "Nick Kyrgios of course is an entertainer and it's great to play with him. But I like to play with Richard Gasquet, one of my favorites. It can be fancy sometimes."
On his three-set win over Brayden Schnur, he added: "I am feeling good, happy to win. I am comign from Europe, it's another weather, it's hot out there but not humid like this. Different conditions for me, I played good tennis."
On his next match against Karen Khachanov, Tsonga added: "He is a tough opponent. I beat him two times before but it was before (laughing). I am looking forward to it. He is a top 15 player. I will try to play my game and go through."
Asked about his goals, Tsonga concluded: "I do not put too high expectations. I give my best every day."
Tsonga took a break following Wimbledon, where he lost in a straight-set third round match against the Spaniard Rafael Nadal. He had an intense grass-court season having played in Halle, where he lost to Roger Federer in the second round, and Stuttgart where he lost to Milos Raonic. We will see how far Tsonga will go in this week's Citi Open which is one of his favorite tournaments.
