Shintaro Mochizuki: I don't wanna be too happy, time to work hard again
Japan's Shintaro Mochizuki admits he is happy after winning the Wimbledon boys' singles title but underlines that now it is time to get back to the hard work.
The Japanese saw off Carlos Gimeno Valero of Spain 6-3 6-2 in the Wimbledon boys' singles final.
The 16-year-old wrote history on Sunday as he became the first Japanese player with a Grand Slam boys' singles title.
"I'm really happy with that but I don't be, like, too happy I have, like, more tournaments coming up so I just wanna focus on them and I just wanna work hard," Mochizuki told the ITF.
Mochizuki got broken twice in the first set but still easily won the opener as he broke Gimeno Valero in four consecutive games.
The Spaniard saved five break points in the second game of the second set to avoid getting broken for the fifth consecutive time but then blew three break points in the following game.
Gimeno Valero's game then fell apart as Mochizuki broke him in the fourth and eighth game to seal the title.
