Stan Smith reveals Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic secret
In an interview to Sky Sport the former player Stan Smith commented on Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic's dominance. The American said: "Their secret is the great balance. The better balance you have, the more control you have. Rafa had a lot of injuries, Djokovic had a few, Federer had a very few, but they are all so balanced emotionally. Federer has his family, Djokovic and Nadal are always happy. They are happy with their lives, travelling and happy. They enjoy the competition."
Speaking to Spanish reporters on Tuesday, Roberto Bautista Agut previewed the quarter-final match against Guido Pella in Wimbledon. "I think that both for him and me and it's a new round, a new situation where we will fight for a place in the semifinals. The emotional factor and nerves will play a huge role on court. I felt very well throughout the week. Physically I am doing well and tennis-wise I played one of the best matches", said Bautista Agut. "Pella's best quality is that he is very fast, he covers the court and he has a good eye and a great backhand."
Federer said: "I mean, look, you always have to look at also what the matchup is, is it just a coincidence that it's right now the way it is. I think it's also partially like what I mentioned before. I think the best guys now are fully engaged, they know exactly what to expect from the court and the conditions. That helps us to play better. I think with experience, that's good. We haven't dropped much energy in any way. It's not like we're coming in with an empty tank into the second week. All these little things help us to then really thrive in these conditions. I don't know what else it is. I forgot who Novak played today."
