Frances Tiafoe speaks highly of Winston-Salem Open

Rising American star Frances Tiafoe is looking forward to his Winston-Salem Open campaign as he hopes to make a deep run at the American ATP 250 event and pick up the much-needed confidence for the US Open. 

The 21-year-old, who debuted at the Winston-Salem event in 2015, is set to make his third appearance at the tournament and the first one since 2015. 

The American didn't impress in his first two Winston-Salem appearances as he made the second round in his debut, before bowing out in the first round a year later respectively. 

Tiafoe, seeded at No. 10, has a first round bye at the tournament as he will open his campaign against the winner of the match between France's Jeremy Chardy and a qualifier. 

"I really like it here. It feels like a home event. You all make everyone feel so at home. Hopefully, I can get out there and win some matches for you," Tiafoe said ahead of his Winston-Salem campaign, as revealed on the tournament's Twitter account.
