Kyrgios shares keys to beat Roger Federer, Nadal, Djokovic in Grand Slams
In an interview Nick Kyrgios commented on the tough challenge of facing Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. "Beating those guys at five sets is unbelievably tough", said the Australian. "You need to be very consistent. Not a lot of people can do it. I have to work hard to go far in the Grand Slam. You need to be doing very well physically to play a lot of best of five sets matches. I have to work harder and be more disciplined."
The Acapulco Tournament Director Raul Zurutuza spoke about the future of tennis once the Big Three retire: "It's clear we will miss them, but not a lot. Players like Kyrgios have this great ability of switching from booing to claps, winning. Alexander Zverev is the world No. 3, he is 22 years old and we have to start seeing those unbelievably quality players. We need to be getting used to them. The crowd enjoys looking at those guys."
Speaking of Kyrgios, the former player Paul McNamee said: "John McEnroe said that Nick Kyrgios is the ultimate team player. That’s a very interesting statement, if you think about - the ultimate team player. Who in all those people who are smashing him at the moment would say that? Would even imagine that? He needs to be playing for somebody, he needs to be part of a team. Nick, I don’t think, is dying for his team. What I’m hinting at is that I don’t think he’s got his team right."
